Bottleneck

Camne nak tau kalau processor ke RAM yang bottleneck pc tu, contohnya pc pakai Intel Pentium 4 dengan Kingston DDR2 1GB..
men game je sangkut2 je.. tension je..

Member kata tukar proc je, tapi ade yang kata upgrade RAM, pakai yang 800mhz punye..

Intel yang selalu masalah bottleneck ni, AMD jarang sket.. Sebab tu la AMD lebih kepada gaming..
Phenom 2 yang baru pun boleh pawn core i7

bottleneck <--- apo kebender tuh,, tak pernah dengaq pon.. ceta lah sket

bottleneck tu nak maksudkan sesuatu hardware yang limit overall performance pc.. Macam AMD, kurang cket bottleneck banding dengan intel, so lebih power..

btul...aku x rasa AMD terkecuali...mcm aku bce, AMD socket am2+ pun bottleneck kalo pkai gc HD4870...gc HD4870 krng2 kne pkai AMD phenom, bru ok...kalo intel krng2 quad core...

Bukti? Senang je.. Sebelum tu kene faham konsep Front Side Bus(FSB) dan HyperTransport(HT)..

Contoh paling senang, kenape AMD Athlon X2 dulu dominate processor market? Kenape intel ketinggalan dari AMD? Pastu benchmark AMD X2 semuanya lagi tinggi dari Intel?

Sebenarnya bottleneck ni hanya berpunca dari processor.. Punca Athlon X2 power dari C2D mase dulu sebab HyperTransport link dah 2000MHz..
C2D time tu FSB baru 800MHz. ini bermakna chipset intel beroperasi pada speed 800MHzx2=1600MHz.. Sebab tu la Athlon X2 senang2 boleh pawn C2D..

Pastu kenape sekarang C2D dominate pulak? Reason die FSB C2D dah dinaikkan jadi 1066MHz, so chipset beroperasi pada speed 2132MHz..
padahal Athlon X2 6400+ masih pakai HT link 2000MHz..Kenape Phenom score highest 3DMark? Phenom dah pakai HT link 3600MHz..
Lagi tinggi dari Core 2 Extreme.. AMD pun pernah condemn Intel sebab pakai teknologi FSB, walaupun teknologi tu bottleneck overall system performance..

btw...Intel(core i7) dah pn mulakan blik legasi hyperthreading technology...n of kos, gner tech baru yg dkenali sbg QPI(Quick Path Interconnect)...

Despite you didnt elaborate (or even know) about the technical advantage of core i7 and QPI, how you can be surely assured that the 'new QPI technology surely beat AMD (with its HyperTransport)?

Core 2 Extreme is at its own class, different class, with massive transistor count and cache and also will cost you a bomb, I assumed no one would be able to afford.

AMD had been using HyperTransport, while Intel used Front Side Bus (FSB). The FSB bottlenecks pc performance, that is why Intel come up with QPI.
HyperTransport is NOT a new tech, FYI it is dated a long ago, in fact from the Athlon family (attention please:Athlon family, not Phenom). HyperTranport link of 3200MHz is equals to 6.4GT/s, the same like the Core i7. Then, Phenom II 940 (by only using DDR2 and AM2+ socket) will be surely capable of reaching transfers greater than Core i7 as its HyperTransport link is '3600MHz'
Thats the explanation why AMD is currently holding the world record for highest 3DMark score of 45k..

Dont stop yet, wait for this April, Phenom II (with DDR3, socket AM3 and HT link of 4000MHz, then there will be true competition for Core i7..

By the way, Intel copied AMD HyperTransport technology in QPI (the memory controller on the same package with the processor with addition of point to point interconnects). Even my old Athlon X2 5200+ had that, QPI clearly copied AMD technology.

Though, ATi is an AMD company, wonder why its been making huge profits

Dont underestimate AMD processor or condemning AMD users, unless you know the 'basic' technologies of connection and interconnection, not only the processor brand.

Harap2 AMD keep up R&D, Intel dah dominate processor market lame sangat dah, bagi ade competition sket, baru harga proc turun..

Kalau Phenom II socket AM3 ni harga lebih kurang dengan phenom sekarang, maybe ramai yang akan angkat rig Phenom je..
